For Job Seekers

Get hired by boutique firms breaking the mold.

HeyCounsel’s member firms are boutiques founded by former Big Law partners and in-house legal heads, and they’re hiring across corporate, litigation, IP, healthcare, and more. Send one resume and we’ll put it in front of the firms whose needs match.

Who you’d work for

Boutique firms. Big Law pedigree.

Founded by lawyers who’ve operated at the top

Alumni of Latham, Goodwin, Perkins Coie, and Fenwick. Former federal prosecutors and in-house general counsel. Chambers-ranked boutiques that chose independence over the pyramid.

Big Law caliber teams, without the overhead

Flat-fee and subscription pricing, fully remote and distributed teams, and partnerships built on profit share rather than leverage. Modern practices with modern economics, serving clients from venture-backed startups to asset managers.

A ceiling worth reaching

Several of these roles are a firm’s first attorney hire. Others come with origination credit, profit share, or a stated path to partner. At a 3-to-15-lawyer firm, your work is visible from day one.

What they’re hiring for

The roles, by practice area.

Firms share openings with us privately, so we show the shape of what’s open rather than individual postings. Formats range from full-time to part-time, of counsel, fractional, and contract-to-start.

How it works

One resume, hundreds of boutique firms.

01

Send one resume

The button opens an email to support@heycounsel.com with the subject line filled in. Attach your resume and tell us, in a few lines, what you’re looking for.

02

We match it to firms

Our team shares your resume with member firms whose current needs fit your practice area, seniority, and location. Privately, never on a job board.

03

Firms reach out directly

If there’s a fit, the hiring partner contacts you. No recruiters, no placement fees, no middle layer: you talk to the person you’d be working with.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to be a HeyCounsel member?

No. Membership is for independent lawyers running their own practices. Job seekers just send a resume. There’s nothing to sign up for.

Why aren’t the openings listed here?

Member firms share what they need with us privately and hire on their own terms, so we don’t publish individual postings. This page shows who’s hiring and the shape of the roles; the specifics come from the firm if there’s a fit.

Are non-attorney roles included?

Yes. Firms have asked us for paralegals, operations leads, legal engineers, contracts managers, and content roles alongside attorneys.

Is remote work common?

More than half of the roles shared with us this year are remote-friendly. The rest are mostly in New York, California, Florida, and Washington, DC.

Who sees my resume?

HeyCounsel’s team, and the member firms we think are a fit. We don’t publish resumes or share them outside the community.

Does this cost anything?

No. HeyCounsel isn’t a recruiter and doesn’t charge candidates or firms for introductions.

What if I’m not ready to move yet?

Send it anyway. Several firms told us they’re open to people who are still employed full time, and we only make an introduction when the fit is real.
